Sew Me Something: 'Natural Life' Cotton Dress

'Natural Life' cotton dress IMG_6009 IMG_6011 IMG_6012

Second make for this year was using this animal print fabric. There are words 'natural life' scattered around, and I thought it was going to make a good summer / safari style dress.

I wanted something loose-fitting and I like sleeves, and so I fell back to another favourite dress pattern of mine, the Blouson Dress from Burdastyle, with some changes:
1. pleated the sleeve cuff;
2. made large front pockets.

Thank you, Kathleen, for this cute fabric!

And here's proof that the dress got worn in public:
Apr.27.13 At Cathy's booth, Lambertville
At Cathy's show booth in Lambertville's Shad Fest. Lambertville is a quaint, hippie and artsy town that I want to live in.
