14 June 2012, Thursday. Have you been on an elephant?

It certainly swayed a lot. I felt bad for the elephant at first, seeing how it had to carry a tonne on its back, early in the morning. But realising that it was snacking -- easily ripping grass and plants off the ground -- every few seconds along the way, it wasn't so bad for the guy after all...

The last steep stretch was probably the most difficult part for the creature. It really was steep, and I thought we ought to get down and help push it up. But it managed. Good elephant!

That was a great morning; what a way to experience Nepal.

And here's a tip: Don't go barefoot or wear flip-flops. Those thorny trunks and branches are mean.

This was our last morning at Chitwan National Park and Machan Wildlife Resort... We were to make our back to Kathmandu.
