A Bread A Month: November's Irish Soda Bread

It's that time again, for a new bread adventure.

A simple bread that needs no rising, and the few simple ingredients: Flour, Salt, Bicarbonate of Soda, Milk, and Butter. Sounded real easy, but look what I got.

It was dry, flat, and gave us a major salt attack.It's all chemistry; something must have gone wrong, somewhere. Do I also need to mention ugly?

I'm afraid this recipe gets a 'Fail' stamp on it.


  1. I don't know how it should look, but indeed not very tastefull

  2. Why don't you cut it in small slices and put into the oven?! (until golden and crispy)
    You can have it on veggies soups, or with soft/cream cheese, etc

  5. Thats the first failure, yes? I have never had Irish soda bread before, but the ingredients sounded nice. What a shame it didn't turn out how you hoped it would.
