Moving out of your Swiss home: Onus' on us -- find replacement(s)

Not meant as a guide, the 'Moving out of your Swiss home' posts in this blog are chronicles of our personal (mis)adventures. Hey, we're new to this. If you've got stories from experience to share, I'm all ears!

Might I be safe to say that each proprietor has his/their own set of terms + conditions?
This apartment I speak of, and am currently based at, came with a 12-month contract.

12 months was easy to serve; this apartment has been our cozy home for almost 2 years.

Based on these conditions:
(a) we are terminating our contract in under 2 months; and
(b) our last date here is not one of those "official move out" dates; and
(c) we have fulfilled well over the 12-month contract; and, maybe also
(d) we have established a good relation with our landlord (lucky for us, they are a nice bunch of cat-loving people),
... our landlord has entrusted us to seek - and present - just 1 or 2 tenant replacements.

It's best we be on the safe side.

So, the search is on!
