Yarny Giveaway - I won

Excuse me while I brag:
Look what the postman brought me, on Tuesday?
Rima of Yarny Days' giveaway gift!

Yes people, I won something!

It felt like Christmas in July.
Even the Hubs was excited -- who is this nice person, he asked, and agreed the fabric is going to work well as a bag.
Now, if only I could get my hands on a sewing machine?

I keep going through the book, One Skein Wonders, and mentally listing the many things I could make with those really, really random balls of yarn I keep gathering from Brockiland.

And that gorgeous Manos handcrafted yarn, Rima?
I have dug my claws in, and am already swatching-a-gauge --
I can't wait to work something out from them.

Naturally, this blog entry is for me to show off, so let us continue...

Remember my first batch of 9 balls from the thrift store?

I made:

Notes "Cotton Linen Tank Top"
88% Cotton, 11% Linen.
Thrift store bought yarn.
4 balls used for this.
Inspired by a tank top from Annie Modesitt’s Romantic Hand Knits, but did not follow pattern.
Straps = I-cords.

Notes "Long Grain Rice Wrap"
88% Cotton, 11% Linen.
Thrift store bought yarn.
5 balls used for this.
Simple Stockinette stitches and crochet.
Asymmetrical crochet side ends.

Yup! That's all for now.
I will now have to spend the rest of the day plotting a Thank You exchange gift to Rima, and to knit some more.

Glad you like all the stuff. Cant wait to see what you come up with.

Until then, I ogle at your linen loveliness.

  2. oh my god - that wrap is gorgeous - wow!

    great wins too!

How I love comments. Thank you for stopping by; I really appreciate it :)
